Terms & Notary Services Disclaimer

Effective Date: October 5, 2026

Welcome to Sarah's Mobile Notary, a locally owned, sole-proprietor mobile notary business serving Greenville and surrounding Upstate South Carolina communities.

By requesting or using my services, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

1. Notary Services
I am a commissioned South Carolina Notary Public and provide mobile notary services at convenient locations throughout my service area.
My role as a notary is to perform authorized notarial acts and serve as an impartial witness as provided by South Carolina law.
I am also licensed, insured, and have professional experience in the real estate and title insurance industries. However, my professional experience does not change the limited role of a notary public.

2. No Legal Advice
I am not an attorney and do not provide legal advice.
My notary services do not include:
Providing legal advice
Interpreting laws or legal documents
Recommending which documents you should sign
Determining whether a document is appropriate for your situation
Preparing legal documents
Advising you about your legal rights or obligations
Representing you in a legal matter
If you have questions about the legal meaning or effect of a document, you should consult an attorney or the professional who prepared the document.

3. The Notary's Role
A notary may verify identity, administer oaths or affirmations, witness signatures, and perform other notarial acts authorized by law.
A notarization does not mean that the notary has reviewed, approved, or verified the contents of a document.
I do not determine whether a document is legally valid, accurate, complete, enforceable, or appropriate for your particular situation.

4. Client Responsibility for Documents
Clients are responsible for providing the documents they need notarized and for knowing what type of notarization is required.
Please have your documents completed before the appointment, except for portions that must be completed in the presence of the notary.
I cannot advise you about what information should be entered into a legal document.
If you are unsure how a document should be completed, please contact the attorney, lender, title company, government agency, document preparer, or other professional who provided it.

5. Identification
Valid identification may be required before a notarial act can be performed.
The identification provided must satisfy applicable South Carolina requirements.
If sufficient identification cannot be provided, I may be unable to complete the requested notarization.

6. Right to Decline a Notarial Act
I may decline to perform a notarization when the requirements for the requested notarial act have not been satisfied or when circumstances indicate that the notarization should not be performed.
Examples may include insufficient identification, uncertainty about the signer's willingness or awareness, suspected fraud or coercion, an incomplete document, or other circumstances that prevent the notary from properly performing the requested act.

7. Fees and Travel Charges
Notarial fees are charged in accordance with applicable South Carolina law.
A separate mobile or travel fee may apply when I travel to your requested location. Any travel fee will be communicated and agreed upon in advance and is separate from the statutory notarial fee.
Additional fees may apply for services such as extended travel, evening or weekend appointments, same-day or last-minute appointments, when permitted and agreed upon in advance.
Your total quoted price will be provided before the appointment whenever reasonably possible.

8. Appointments and Cancellations
Mobile appointments are scheduled based on availability.
Because mobile appointments require travel, clients are asked to provide accurate appointment information and to provide reasonable notice when an appointment needs to be changed or canceled.
Any applicable cancellation, waiting-time, travel, or other charges will be communicated in advance whenever reasonably possible.

9. No Guarantee of Document Acceptance
Completion of a notarization does not guarantee that a document will be accepted by a court, lender, title company, government agency, recording office, financial institution, or other organization.
Clients are responsible for confirming any special requirements of the organization receiving their documents.

10. Service Area
My primary service area is Greenville and surrounding Upstate South Carolina communities.
Travel outside my normal service area may be available depending on distance, scheduling, and other circumstances. Additional travel charges may apply and will be discussed before the appointment.
Notarial acts are performed within the jurisdiction permitted by South Carolina law.

11. Privacy and Confidentiality
I understand that notary appointments may involve sensitive personal and financial information.
I make reasonable efforts to protect client information and handle it responsibly. Please review my Privacy Policy for additional information about how personal information is collected, used, and protected.

12. Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Sarah's Mobile Notary is not responsible for the legal effect, validity, enforceability, accuracy, completeness, acceptance, rejection, or ultimate outcome of any document presented for notarization.
My responsibility is limited to properly performing the requested notarial act when the requirements for that act have been satisfied.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit any right or responsibility that cannot legally be waived or limited.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and the provision of notary services are governed by the applicable laws of the State of South Carolina.
